HI, I’M ISOBELLE — SENIOR DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR, WRITING COACH, WEBSITE DESIGNER & CHAI LATTE ENTHUSIAST!
Educating writers and supporting author careers is what I do best!
I know you dream about holding your book in your hands one day. (As a writer myself, I have the same dream!) And I know that writing and revising your book hasn’t always been easy. But I want you to know that writing your novel and preparing it for publication doesn’t need to be overwhelming or lonely.
My Approach
I believe that every book is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, ensuring you receive support that resonates with you.
Whether you need help writing the first draft of your novel, navigating revising the first draft, or showcasing your book to the world through a custom website, I’m here to support you. I help writers at every stage of the writing journey to plan, write, revise, and publish their best books.
My Story
I’ve been writing stories since I could first hold a pen. Yet it wasn’t until 2017 that I started writing with the intent to publish. At that time, I had written an epic fantasy in the vein of A Game of Thrones and I very proudly — and bravely — shared it with someone I hoped would provide constructive feedback.
What I got was harsh criticism that turned me away from writing for about a year.
When I received that feedback, I knew I would never do the same to my clients. I knew I would support, encourage and motivate my writers so they never had to feel what I felt.
Writer, this is my promise to you.
Why could I be the best fit for you?
In-house experience: Before starting my business in 2019, I worked in-house for an indie publisher in London and learnt all the behind-the-scenes of publishing.
Accredited training: I trained through the Society for Editors and Proofreaders to gain editing-specific qualifications.
Fellow writer: As a writer myself, I know first-hand what it feels like to put your book in another’s hands. I haven’t always had positive experiences myself, and I never want that for you.
I started Inspired Creative Co. in 2019 so I could be a cheerleader and mentor to aspiring authors. I love being a part of the process — seeing a story take shape and watching a writer’s talent develop and grow over time. Working closely with my writers to make their story vision come to life is truly an honour, so I’m here to help you do just that.
If you’ve been feeling held back by perfectionism, self-doubt, or uncertainty about how to strengthen your writing, I’m here to help you navigate that. Together, we’ll build your confidence and refine your writing so you can share your unique stories with the world.

WHAT THEY’RE saying
“Isobelle is wonderful to work with. I wanted to make those first revisions easier, to know what areas of my writing needed to be improved. What was great was that Isobelle told me what did work, too—something I hadn’t realized I needed. But the positive input was just as helpful as the input on what could be polished. I definitely recommend working with her!”
— Lyric, paranormal romance writer
“Isobelle helped me to feel confident about the things I’d done well, whilst supporting me in improving the areas that needed work. As a writing novice, I was anxious about handing my work over for inspection, but I needn't have worried. Isobelle’s insights were spot on and I've come away not only with a stronger story, but with a bunch of skills that will help me going forward.”
— Amy, sci-fi thriller author
Meet Kat —
Associate editor, book-devourer, cat-wrangler!
There’s nothing Kat loves more than writing. If she had to talk non-stop for half an hour about a single subject, writing would be it. There's very little else she can wax lyrical about (except maybe her cats). It’s this passion that she brings to her editing. She loves watching a story grow, from a kernel of an idea to a story in full bloom. She helps authors achieve this by providing insightful and constructive feedback that is not only actionable but supportive. As a writer herself, Kat knows how powerful the right kind of advice can be. She understands how much time and heart goes into a novel and she is here to be your biggest cheerleader (just substitute pom-poms for red pens).
How you can work together
Services: developmental editing
Genre specialties: fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, romance, YA
Kat may not be the best fit for out-right action, thriller, horror or overly religious texts.
Availability: January 2025
Kat’s writing: Kat’s stories still fall broadly in the fantasy genre, but she enjoys blending genre and worlds together: think fantasy meets murder mystery, or steampunk meets Celtic Britain. Lately she’s also been playing around with contemporary romance, although she’s pretty sure some fantastical element will creep in… it always does!
